DART SOC-3 (Dallas, TX)

DART SOC 3 014 sm Archer Western and Herzog are currently working on this 2.6 mile LRT project for DART with a goal of 49% D/M/WBE participation. The project includes double tracks with overhead traction power catenary; reconfigure the existing Ledbetter Station and the construction of two new stations (Camp Wisdom Road and UNT Dallas). Additionally, the project includes approximately 5,100 linear feet of bridge structures for crossings at Fivemile Creek, Ricketts Branch and Runyon Springs Branch floodplain. Revenue service is anticipated to begin in December 2016.

LACMTA Crenshaw/LAX Transit (Los Angeles, CA)

Crenshaw rendering This $1.3B, LRT project is 8.5 miles long, linking LAX Airport to the cities of Inglewood and Los Angeles Historic Crenshaw District. The project includes 5.5 miles of at-grade track, 3,600' of bridge, 4,600' of U-wall, 4,700' of cut and cover trench, 6,000' bored tunnel, 6 stations - 2 underground, 1 aerial, 3 at-grade, 10 TPSS, 16 grade crossings and 2 optional stations. All stations will provide safe and convenient customer interfaces and site connectivity and will reflect Metro's system-wide state-of-the art design standards. This project is planned to be complete in September 2017.  

Denton County Transit Authority A-Train (Denton, TX)

Denton CountyTA Archer Western and Herzog were CM/GC JV partners for the $193M 21-mile FRA Class IV single track project passing through six North Texas cities; Carrollton, Lewisville, Town of Hickory Creek, Lake Dallas, Corinth and Denton. During pre-construction, the Archer Western/Herzog JV Team provided $30M in value engineering ideas. The project includes demolition of existing facilities; significant electrical elements, system safety, start-up; construction of commuter rail stations and an operations and maintenance facility; heavy civil construction elements such as earthwork, roadbed and trackwork construction; utility tie-ins; five platforms and three park-and-ride facilities.

DART Light Rail Transit System, Green Line CM/GC 1 and CM/GC 3 (Dallas, TX)

 Archer Western and Herzog worked together for the successful completion of this $957M light rail program. The projects, which include a massive rail operations facility, stretch more than 25 miles through urban neighborhoods adjacent to Love Field International Airport and along an active railway corridor. Prior to commencing construction, Archer Western provided more than 12 months of pre-construction services. Working closely with DART and the designers, Archer Western identified design opportunities that improved construction efficiency and schedule, resulting in cost savings to DART of more than  $69M.

Capital Metro Northwest Commuter Rail (Austin, TX)

 Herzog successfully managed the startup and implementation of service for the Capital Metro.  The Metro Rail commuter service started operations on March 22, 2010, just 78 days after being on the property. Herzog managed the transition from another contractor and start-up and now provides train operations, maintenance of equipment and facilities, maintenance of way including signals and dispatching on 112 route miles. The project includes nine stations and a maintenance facility, grade-separated bridge crossing design over UPRR mainline track, at-grade crossings and road improvements.

Trinity Railway Express (Fort Worth, TX)

 Herzog began operations and maintenance work for the 34-mile mixed use corridor and 11-mile branch line in October of 1996. Herzog’s responsibilities include track surfacing, tie replacement, track inspection, track structure, rail flaw detection, switch maintenance, bridge inspection, signal and communications maintenance and all other required maintenance activities. In addition, Herzog performs capital work for TRE. Maintenance and capital work has been self-performed, with the exception of relatively minor bridge work.

Rail Runner Commuter Rail Extension (Santa Fe, NM)

 Herzog was a key JV partner for the design-build extension of Rail Runner commuter rail service from Albuquerque to Santa Fe. The project included fast track design and construction of 18 miles of new commuter rail track.

UTA Frontrunner North and South CM/GC (Salt Lake, UT)

 Herzog Contracting, as a key JV partner, served as the CM/GC for the Utah Transportation Association (UTA) FrontRunner North and South Program, consisting of 90 miles of single track, five miles of double track, five miles of passing side track, 16 multi-span bridges, seven single-span bridges, a 4,000 LF flyover, 16 retaining walls, 83 at-grade crossings and eight park-and-ride stations. Logistically challenging, the project was performed with limited access over a long distance, within a narrow corridor and adjacent to active mainline UPRR freight operations.
